Open License Agreement

This agreement is between the Statistical Office of Uganda herein referred to as Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) and you (an individual or a legal entity that you are authorized to represent). Your use of the data published on this Open Data Platform indicates your acceptance of the terms below.

Definitions

Data: Any media including, audio, visual, video, text, graphics, or any other material that you can ascertain by means of the Uganda Bureau of Statistics’ Open Data Platform (ODP).

Value-added products: Any by-product you create as a result of utilizing the data in whole or in part according to the conditions herein provided.

License Grant

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS)  grants you (an individual or a legal entity that you are authorized to represent) a worldwide, royalty-free non-exclusive license to freely use the data, copy, modify, translate, publish, adapt,  distribute, create derivative works and value-added products for commercial and non-commercial purposes subject to the terms of this license.

Acknowledgement of Source

You shall include and maintain the following notice on all licensed rights of the data and where possible provide a link to this license.

Terms of use: This work is licensed under an open license agreement. It is attributed to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).

Limitation

The license provided herein is limited solely to Uganda’s data published on this ODP and shall not extend to any third-party data, software, and source code. All third-party data downloaded from the Open Data Platform of Uganda shall be subject to separate licensing terms identified by the third party.

Intellectual Property Rights

Intellectual property rights that Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) may have in the data shall remain the property of Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). Intellectual property rights that third parties may have in the data shall remain their property. Intellectual property rights in value-added products, being any and all intellectual property rights recognized by law, shall vest in you.

Term

This agreement is effective as of the date and time you access the information and shall terminate automatically if you breach any of the terms of the license agreement.

Non-Endorsement

This license does not grant you the right to use the data in a way that suggests an official status or endorsement of you or your use of the data.

Disclaimer

Data are made available “as is” without warranty of any kind, including the implied warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) will not be held responsible for damages resulting from its use or interpretation including any consequential damage, punitive damage, direct or indirect damage or loss of profits.

Applicable Law

The agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Government of Uganda.
